In an interview with Tottenham’s official TV station, striker Kane recalled last weekend’s away victory against Southampton, and his 4 assists were given to teammate Sun Xingmin.
"That's the icing on the cake, for sure!" Kane said with a smile, "I think I have twice as many assists in one game today as last season! Obviously, as a shooter, you also want to score goals, so It’s nice to see that ball (Lamela’s shot) hit the goal post and landed fortunately at my feet."
"It was a perfect day. We have a lot of games next, so we can't be complacent, but this is the performance we need, especially the second half.
Talking about cooperating with Sun Xingmin, Kane added: "We talked about it before the game... We know that Southampton likes high position pressure, so I retraced deeper, and I told Sun Xingmin to run behind them.
"On the third ball, I heard him shouting, but didn't see him at all. I only knew he would be in that area. If we want to play well and win, we must have this connection.
"We have to seize the opportunity. Last week (against Everton) we had a few opportunities, but we did not grasp it and were punished for it. This is the Premier League. It was a wonderful second half and we knew we could do it in the first half. Better, but everyone is happy to win."
